Hey all, I am doing Economic reserach on Irish contributions to charity and would like someone to just throw a few names at me of chariites which work to alleviate the suffering of the IRISH poor, homeless etc rather than the likes of GOAL and Concern who work internationally.

    Thanks

Saint Vincent de Paul would be the first name that comes to mind.

Although they claim to be international, they describe themselves as "a large, national, voluntary-led, decentralised, organisation".

Why not do a bit of googling? There's loads. Or, I dunno, check out www.activelink.ie.
