The only way you can permanently get rid of Muffin top is Lipo. Its nothing to do with the size of the clothes i would never put someone in clothes that didn't fit them. too big over too small if you have to make that choice

That's completely wrong! A muffin top is hips and stomach bulging out over the waistband of trousers, if the trousers are loose enough to accomodate said hips and stomach then they will not hang over.

You can be slim and toned and still have a muffin top if your trousers are too tight because your skin will bulge out.

Deffo, my SIL is easily the skinniest person I've ever seen and she has a pair of leather pants that give her a muffin top at the sides. Seriously, nobody would even consider doing lipo on her, there's not a pick on her.

It's all about making sure your clothes fit well. Tis better to buy a bigger size and look well than try and squeeze yourself into something too small and look fat.

You are overweight when you have to hover over the jacks to take a dump.

Are you really that thick that as an image consultant you would know its from ill-fitting clothes????????

    Get a life tbh
LadyE, tone it down. Ditto on the subsequent very personal comments directed at Laura Appleby. That's what the personal messaging function is for.

In my opinion, noticeable rolls of flab, even if the person isn't big overall, is overweight.

'Over weight' and 'over fat' are two completely different things.

I lift weights, I eat tons of calouries and I fight at + 100kgs (I'm 120kgs at the moment) but I've got below average fat for a male. To most I'd be considered 'over weight', but my BMI (body Mass Index) would show me as lean.

I've a mate who weighs the same, doesn't train, drinks most nights - loves a big curry and couldn't scratch his ass without a nurses aide... he's over fat!, his BMI would put him into the morbidly obese catagory.

If your BMI is over 26 you are overweight.

Well yeah but you could be an 18 stone, 6ft rugby player. I think the OP is referring to overweight as in fat.

If your BMI is over 26 you are overweight.

that would mean every contestant on mr universe like ronnie coleman and jay cutler are morbidly obese which they ain't, colemans competition BMI is 41 and off season its 47

wrestler dave batista has barely an gram of fat on him but his BMI is 35

    You are overweight if
    • you show up on radar
    • you leave footprint in concrete
    • people jog around you for exercise
    • you have more chins than a chinese phonebook
    • you wear a yellow coat, people shout 'Taxi'
    • you go to the beach, and greenpeace offer to put you back to sea
    • you can break a family tree
    • you can capsize a small boat

BMI is inaccurate as it doesn't account for a difference between fat and muscle. It's all one.

So yeah, technically by using BMI, most athletes (who are heavyweight - Rugby players, boxers, etc etc) would be classed as overweight, yet might not have anything but muscle.

Body fat % does however account for the difference.

The way I measure women being over weight is simple, if I can't put my hands behind their back and have my wrists touch then there's too much fat there. It's odd how so many people I've told of my fat test now use it.

If you need to pay for 2 seats on a plane

If you can eat 2 big mac meals in one sitting

    If you have to ask:
    "Do I look fat?"
    "How fat is too fat?"
    "How overweight is overweight?"
    "Does my bum look big?"
    etc...
Then odds are you are fat/have a fat arse.:p

(quick lads, support this and we can put an end to being asked these question by the ladies!):D

ah now, thats not fair, don't associate greed with being fat...

Fat people are greedy people too lazy to burn the excess calories off, thus being wastes of humanity.

Greedy people can still maintain a subtle weight assuming they put the hard work in.

Men - if you look pregnant and the only position you can play on football is the goalkeeper. Your woman refers to you as cuddly

Women - overhang on the tracksuit bottoms as you can only fit into tracksuit bottoms as jeans would be too tight.

That's hardly a fair thing to say. Weight is a very personal and sensitive issue for many people, regardless of whether they're overweight or not. I eat the wrong foods and don't do enough exercise [that's all going to change] but I would be very hurt to think that someone thought of me as a waste of space.

Also, often, greed IS associated with being fat as it is thought that they just eat and eat and eat, which isn't always true. Like I said already, I don't eat extra than anyone else, I just eat the wrong foods. It's very difficult to make the changes necessary until you have the motivation. The reason I didn't make the changes previously was because I was on my high horse thinking "They should accept me as I am", not realising that my body is indeed a temple and should be treated as one accordingly, and by being fat, I'm not treating it as the temple that is :)

I think the BMI is good if you are average sized... apparently i'm obese according to it... 30.5 or 31....

I'm 6ft 5 and 18 stone... have 40" waist which a lot of people would say is fat but although i carry a bit extra, i'm just big... 48" chest, 35.5" inside leg... etc etc...

If you get to the point where you can't do the activities that you want to or used to be able to do or that your friends do because of your weight then you're overweight... other than that live and let live... trying to put a value on what makes you overweight or not is pointless, everyone is different and categorising people doesn't help anything...
