Now before people start to say im racist I AM NOT... I'v been doing barwork for years but im of the opinion that of the foreign nationals becoming "bar people" the majority of them are sh*te... I had one girl "who supposedly served for years" ask me did the hotel we were working in at the time have a certian way to pour a guinness..???.. also why is it that when new members of bar staff were told they were being trained in by a 20 year old, why did they kick up a fuss????

Guniness isnt always on tap tho in countries outside Ireland...so depending on where she worked before thats not a crazy question to ask.

Because they don't just churn out slop quickly to get rid of the person at the bar so that others can join the line and receive their allocated slop too? "Foreign National" is a very broad term. Does that include maybe Germans and Belgians who may have worked behind a bar for years and actually know how to pull a proper pint but because they are slow about it by Irish standards that they are sh*te?
I had one girl "who supposedly served for years" ask me did the hotel we were working in at the time have a certian way to pour a guinness..???
Wow, somebody lied about experience to get a job and asked her colleagues questions in an attempt to learn the trade. Shock Horror:rolleyes:

Can we bring up experiences of gruff Irish barman who grab the monye and throw a pint at you in order to balance things up?

My personal fave:" Whaddafvck dya menan yav nothin' small thanna 50? Howm I supposed to give change for dis?"

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

talking of black stuff, there were diageo people into the hotel awhile ago with some nigerian counterparts and one lad who had only started in diageo says - and i quote - "you don't have to hold the pint glass at 45 degrees, once you two pull pour".. even the nigerians were laughing at him..:D

Because they don't have Guinness in Australia?

Btw, Nigerian sales of Guinness overtook Ireland in 2007.

"im not a racist, i just dont like foreigners"

I dislike barmen in general, regardless where they are from.

They are all nice until it gets busy and then they chose who's next in the queue.

ok, maybe some of them are ok! :D

I think that ithe person is up to the job ,friendly and handles people well it doesnt matter what nationality they are.I have seen extraordinary examples of where two Irsh barmen out served a team of 6 foreigners, but i've also seen the opposite.

I wouldnt be so condesending due to one example.

Was just stating that i am not a racist... i can hardly be one if my cousins are african.. they're from Libya, currently living there with me aunt and kenya, they're living in ballymun and yes they are part of the pyjama birgade and they're under 8 haha

your totally correct there pal.. but the way i see it is if you want any chance of getting a tip, you have to be able to "buzz" off the customer and actually listen to what they're ordering.. also when getting a drinks order of 5 different pints, for the love of god PUT THE GUINNESS ON FIRST!!!!!

.. also when getting a drinks order of 5 different pints, for the love of god PUT THE GUINNESS ON FIRST!!!!!

FACT, Its just common sense to do that, yet alot of Barmen dont...
