    Pointless? Its called child porn because there is a child in it. Reporting the site could potentially take children out of an abusive situation. I really would not call that pointless.

    good point, but when everyone in the country finds listening to the gardaí like going to a comedy show, except with donuts and a snooker table out the back, how do you expect massive fish like interpol to see one little lousy report like us...

    even the EU won't listen to us ffs...

    if the website was irish, then by all means report it, but deliberately looking for child porn websites, really doesn't show well in your history. most child porn websites are just copy and paste jobs anyway....

    to those who feel the gardai arent really up to speed with the problem...here is a website to go to www.cybertipline.com this is us department of justice run and they got over 1000 reports of child porn in one week in january alone.since it is a us website people may feel more comfortable reporting to them...after all the majority of all kiddie porn on line originates from the US anyway .by reporting you could save a child

    Curious to know how many of those 1000 "tips" resulted in actual arrests. And most child porn, afaik, comes from Eastern Europe.

    Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    I get what you're saying but the Gardai have a good track record on fighting kiddy porn and have well established links with Interpol and other police forces. It's this line of thinking that led to an old man getting knocked down in a busy Chicago street and nobody calling the emergency services.

    dont know how many prosecutions resulted from the tips but the fbi does have the means to track this material and notify the relevent authorities in the country of origin.its a hell of a lot better than doing nothing.children go missing every day to fund this industry,doesnt it make more sense to help in any way we can?

    Even if you formatted your hdd and reefed it from your computer into the tide, Garda detectives can request information from your service provider that could point to illegal kiddy xxx sites that you have been visiting through your IP track record. This information must be retained for 5 years. Although they may not get you with pictorial evidence on your PC you will be marked as a Peado suspect and the cops will be on your ass for the rest of your life.

    I disagree. I could get jiggy with wimmins as old as 45* and as young as 18**.

    A paedophile is generally looking at kids (of one gender or even both) between the ages of say 0 and 12.

    It's a much smaller market to use a very crude term.

    My point being, the system is open to abuse. Got a beef with your boss? Report him! It's anonymous!

    And if interpol don't know about ALLEGED* site, they're doing something wrong.
