If you every go to one of the waterford matches tehre are guys on the sidelines with all the hurls. Ask one of them what make they are. They are usually really sound.... that's your best bet I'd say.

I remember Gordon D'arcy telling a story about playing with his 'hurl' when he was younger.

Which settles it, 'Hurleys' all the way. ;)

I have bought a good few sticks off Munster Hurleys who are based in Tramore. All hand made and very good quality. They seem to make them part time so spend the time when making them. You can get any style of copy you want. I get a Crok style with the big boss. €20 a stick.

Don't know the mans name but know that a lot of the team get their hurleys made in Lemybrien which is not too far from Dungarvan on the Waterford side. Why not ring a GAA Club in Deise land and they will help you out!
    Good luck and...UP THE DEISE!

Peter Flanagan in Tramore makes the Hurler of the years hurley anyway ....you could see it clearly on the close up on The Sunday Game ... anyway down in deise country they have a sayin " Frank for the plank and Flash ( Flanagan ) for the ash " so I would stick with the tramore fella .... Ken McGrath, Tony Browne, Brick Walsh, the Penders they all use him .... i do meself sher.

our club get all our hurleys from Frank Murphy in Kilmeaden/Ballyduff lower ... but then again we are a junior club so you might be better going with the other fella!
