According to the Top Statistics this thread is currently the most viewed with over one and a half million hits. The same thread had more than fourteen and a half million hits on Saturday evening.
Just wondering what has caused these rather spurious looking stats.

    Another contributing factor

Result No. 8 of google when you search for 'eircom phonebook', and an eye catching title.

Even at that, I wouldn't imagine Google to bring in 1.5 nillion hits... a third of irelands population.

Perhaps Awstats may fill us in?

Doesn't explain why it had 14.5 million hits on Saturday afternoon though?

Is there a hotly anticipated version of the phonebook coming out that I have missed in my time living in caves? PhoneBook 3.0?

I know from a reliable source (The conspiracy theory forum) that the EU plans to have each member citizen phone an Irish household. Make the final connection for yourselves.

Checked out the logs, nothing really odd showed up, could be random. Reset to 1000. If it climbs again at an unusual rate, I'll look into it some more.

Wow nearly 800k of hits in 14 days. That's 57,142 hits a day.

All you need is 1-2 people with OCD and you can easily get 50k+ hits per day.

I have also seen a bug in another vBulletin forum where the Internet Explorer browser keeps opening the same tab over and over again in an infinite loop. A newbie user perhaps?
