What internet browser are you using? Version of windows? Any error messages when it happens?

-Annex- I'm using Windows XP. Earlier on when this problem began occuring I would get a message from Microsoft saying "Microsoft has encountered a problem and needs to close...". Now I get this message only every other time - otherwise I land back at desktop.

Tricky D : Thanks for the link - could be the solution. One question - I have Norton 360 - shouldn't support do the same thing?

    Thanks for your help. Shortlegs.

Security suites/all-in-one solutions like Norton 360 aren't the best. Read the 'Malware Prevention Tips' sticky for the recommended protection utilities.

Just to wrap this up...Tricky D, I followed your link and it seems to have worked - computer seems -no actually it is -to be working faster as well.
Still have Norton 360 installed as it doesn't seem to be doing any harm.
Marvellous result and thanks again for the assistance.:)
