BT wireless - do i need usb/pcmcia card?

    Hi; for BT wireless - do i need usb/pcmcia card? (Or indeed what are these?)I will be using it on a laptop.

    If it helps I am doing a night course and have wifi access on the laptop while in college, does this mean I don't need anything extra to get the BT wireless. (other than a wireless modem)

    1 wireless card should do the trick for both
    USB devices can work fine but i find cards are much more reliable, although im not a fan of laptops many companies such as belkin offer slide in wireless cards or small devices about the size of a PS2 memory card, basically any device will do the job for you, either it be a slide in card depending on your laptop or a usb device

    My basic understanding is that I shouldn't need to do anything extra to the laptop as it would appear to already have what ever card it needs.

    Now have the broadband active so hopefully the modem should arrive, maybe tomorrow, and I can get set up.

    Sorry lads one more question.
    Do I have any options to connect before the wireless modem arrives? I think the laptop has its own modem.

    Just to go back to the beginning most modern laptops will have a wireless card integrated so you should not have to worry about that if the laptop is anyway recent at all.

    Secondly unless you have a neighbour who is careless with their security you will have to wait until the modem arrives!
