    Looking for the best pub for a first date, i want to be able to talk to and hear the girl though....oh location would be city centre

    Jeez ditto. This place should be renamed Dub-Boards.ie.

    For what my opinion is worth I find Bruxcellies on Grafton Street to be quite nice. I do like my rock music though, downstairs is loud but the main bar upstairs is a nice comfortable volume.

    AKA is good for early evening cocktails. Its just off Grafton Street and they dont turn the music up until after 9 so its quiet enough but not too quiet.

    im from Limerick so i dont know what the story is with the place reservation wise but last time i was in dublin i went to captain americas..looked like a class student place (cocktails served too and food) so id say deffinately check it out! :)
