Have any of you heard of the AlienBees Cybersync? They are apparently an alternative to Pocket Wizards and replace the RFT version AlienBees previously had on the marlket? Transmitter & Receiver available for about €82.

    Link here

If anyone has any experience of using this stuff I'd appreciate any insight you can offer.

I've been on the lookout for a cheaper alternative to Pocket Wizards for a while now.

Why is it that "Made in America", never inspires confidence in me!
I'm sure this would do a job for you, but there are plenty models on the market.

Strobist while not actually reviewing them has a good opinion of the guy that makes them. I was interested, though their international sales policy made my head hurt. Don't forget to add the taxman's slice on top of it all, and UPS mugging, err fee for "collection", which whacks the price up.

Find a mate in the US and buy them that way I reckon.

AlienBee's have a fantastic reputation, and I'd buy a shed load of their gear in the morning if I could, but before their last edit in their international sales section, they pretty much said they weren't shipping to ireland. Their new one is more complicated.

I think I'll collect some of their gear next time I'm in the states.

YeahOk, is it studio style lighting, or flashgun's you want to use it for?

If it's the latter, do google for Radio Poppers :)
