yep, when I've been there I noticed very few 'nice' bikes, everyone rides similar bikes, if they get stolen they pick up another one second hand to €50 or so..

Most Dutch bikes are not worth stealing, ie they weigh a ton with just a single speed gear, many don't even bother to lock them properly.
