Polished Granite table- remove stain marks?

So I got a new kitchen table, two blocks of polished granite inset into the table, I had a friend minding the house, and a Mr Muscle multi purpose cleaner was used to clean the table. There are splash stains from the spray. Any ideas on how to remove them or buff the granite again?. Some-one mentioned white-spirit/petrol…
