I'm struggling with choice - the set will be for TV / DVD watching We do games in a different room. I have 3 destructive kids under 6.

What is the difference between the 2?

Which is the better picture for TV especially movies and sports?

    Thanks

You really are opening a can of worms with that question!

I suppose I'll start by asking, what input sources will you be using?
If you're not going to be using any HD sources, the general concensus is that Plasma is better for analogue sources. That said, I've a Sony LCD, and I'm more than pleased with any analogue source I use.

If you don't mind me asking, what's your budget?

Have a look at the W4000 if you are looking at sony. Quality TV imo and probably cheaper than the W3000

    Budget is relatively unimportant

The Pioneer TV is good value at the moment...Why is that.

We will be watching normal sky tv and terestrial tv from the roof ariel.

We were looking at the Sony because of the voice zoom feature. do you know if it is any good?

As an owner of a 4280 I probably would say the plasma. It won most the awards last year. However the W4000 seem to be getting a fair lot of good reviews this year and had I held off till this summer this tv would seriously tempt me. Komplett have it for around €1400 incl delivery.

as for the W3000 dont know much about it (Prob a bad sign not many good reviews)
