A decent guide book for Tokyo/Japan?

    Guys, I'm looking for an up to date guide book on Japan with predominant focus on Tokyo, if possible. Can any of you recommend a decent book? Thanks

    I found the Time Out guide book for Tokyo good.

    Get one specifically for Tokyo as well, it's too big to be treated as part of a wider book on Japan, all the usual suspects are good reads here. I have one at home that was very useful, think it's a rough guide but I'll confirm later. Although it is 6 years since I went.

    Yeah, I had the Time Out for Tokyo and I found it was very good alright. In general I think Time Out are better for cities...

    Lonely planet are generally better for countries. I found the Lonely plant for Japan to be pretty good as well.

    Used the Rough Guide for Tokyo last year, very good for details but maps let it down - hard to orient yourself if you are relying on them as they don't give street names for the most part. Subway map at the back is tiny - impossible to read the station names when you're on the go.
