What the hell was God thinking?

Why, oh why, would an 'intelligent designer' create something as foul as a geoduck. And then give it the second longest lifespan of any creature?

Anyway, based on the pointlessness of geoducks, God doesnt exist.

To turn this into a discussion rather than just a statement, what other equally pointless animals are there? Bonus points for ones I havent heard of.

I was thinking more from an evolutionary perspective. I didn't think civility was too much to ask for, perhaps I should have observed your namesake more closely:(

Jellyfish. I mean wtf? They don't do anything except sting people, and provide fuel for a jellyfish fight (the little round soft ones with the purple in them). They don't even have eyes. Stupid *continues mumbling*

Listen babes, Pigheads placating nobody here. It takes a big strong handsome virile man to admit when he was wrong and Pigheads all of those things and more so an apology was called for.

At microscopic levels Ameobas are pretty pointless: all they do is give people dysentery (unless there's an amazing use for them I haven't heard of)
