    Tosibha Laptop.

I have a wireless mouse for my laptop here at work.

The mouse cursor keeps going into the left hand corner.

I need to press and hold the roller ball on the keypad and then use my wireless mouse to get it to work properly.

    Any ideas?

is it a ball mouse or one of the laser type ones?
If its a ball one maybe some dirt stuck in one of the sensors take the ball out and check, if its a laer one i dont know, test the mouse on another computer to see if its the mouse or just your computer.

I have a old dell inspiron 8200 that does the same thing occasionally.

from reading it's a fault with the mouse pad installed. I just ended up disconnection it.

When i had a toshiba last time I had a problem with the keyboard and I think i read about some mouse pad model giving grief like this.

Are you using it on a shiny / non textured surface ?
Optical mice need to "see" movement... a highly reflective surface confuses them. So a simple mouse pad might do the trick, or even an A4 pad to confirm that's the problem.

Is the hard drive on the laptop nearly full? I had a problem where the hard drive on my Del laptop was nearly full and the mouse pointer would do it's own thing, and just move around the screen itself.
