Why cant i select copy/paste in a post?

When i want to copy a long post before posting incase of timeouts and to save rewriting it all i like to copy it. But the forum doesnt allow this, or am i doing something wrong? Cheers.

Select all your post [ctrl] + a followed by [ctrl] + c. Then paste it into notepad.

Firefox should save it automatically; if you're using it just hit the back button.
