Hi, do you mean the role playing segment of the AC or the whole AC day? As far as I can tell (and correct me if I'm wrong guys) and from what I've read, there isn't really a pass or fail to that part of the assessment.

You will be marked on your ability to deal with whatever situations are given to you on the day. So I don't think it's possible to 'fail' as it were but obviously some will do better than others and will be marked appropriately.

I'm just going on what I've seen/read about the AC so don't take this as gospel!

Yes you can fail the assessment centre. You need to reach the standard pass mark or else its a fail. all those who pass are then ranked based on their score on the day.

The work is easy???? What kind of regime do you live with at home????

Bulling boots and ironing uniforms/shirts etc, show parade at 5pm on Friday if you're not up to scratch (even for a speck of fluff on your hat ), marching double time in the rain, running round GV in the sleet, the dreaded PCA (:eek:), and that's the easy stuff!

I've been told by my friend who is there, its tough, they are there to discipline you, to mould you into a uniformed police officer. We WILL find it hard (that's confidence for you, eh?), we will be exhausted (she now flakes out on Friday night at 9.00pm with her first glass of red wine in her hand), but she does say it is very enjoyable and certainly not dull.

Now Lindsay, about that offer....I'll supply the spray starch.....;)

Tell me about it. I passed everything last year (including the vetting and medical). Just didn't get high enough in the merit list to be accepted. I had really got my hopes up, so it felt like a kick in the stones when I got the "Dear John" letter.

It's difficult not to get excited about your chances when you see some of the people on this forum getting called up. The optimism is infectious!

Not everyone will get called up, so you gotta keep a level head.

Best of luck for everyone waiting for IST results. I'm hoping to get mine today or tomorrow.

Hope for the best - Prepare for the worst.

Still NO results this morning!!!! Aaarrrrggghhh!!

The postman has been and gone!

I nearly wrestled him to the ground there to see if he had my letter. Poor man.

Passed IST and have got ac in early June. This is a lot quicker than last year. Don't want to give up hopes of c13 though. I know someone that passed everything a couple of times before getting in. Just want to know one way or another. I guess it gives me more time to train.

MAKEPEACE, GIVEN1 congrats to you, but hope that C13 gets you through anyway :)
Can I ask what date you did the IST on?

MANDYMOO, from looking at your previous posts, I think you did your IST on the same day as me, 24th? Going by the pattern of dates, we may hopefully get ours tomorrow

    PASSED!!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!

Yes Mr Postman brought the good news this morning that I passed my IST. Small problem of having to reschedule AC date as I'm on holiday on the date given, but I'm very pleased - if absolutely quaking it about A/C and so on. All good news on here so far this morning :D

    MUSTBECRAZY, well done :)

If you did your IST on the 23rd, it looks like MANDY MOO and myself are due ours tomorrow, yikes :o

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 102 ✭✭MAKEPEACE

It was 23 of April Squirrel if that's any good. I'm from the North maybe that makes a difference too cos I know some of the people on here are from the South. I dunno sorry. :)

My wife just called from home. I passed the IST. Got a A/C date for the middle of next month. There really doesn't appear to be much of a gap between the end of the IST's and the start of the A/C's. Running a bit quicker this year.

Congratulations to everyone else getting the good news.

18 June. Unfortunately I'm away from 17 June - 1 July! I'd a good idea that would happen if I was lucky enough to pass the IST. Better get my letter off to them, but as booked holiday online I don't have the tickets yet, so can't send a copy of the tickets. I wonder will a copy of the flight details do? Anyone have any idea?
