Anyone see that horrible photo in the independent today?

They showed a guy getting "necklaced" in south africa - a tyre was put around his neck and set alight. They showed a before and after pic.

All I can say is poor bastard.

I worked with a guy that happened to, he got jumped for being the wrong colour in the wrong part of where he lived.

The scars are horrific and he still has screaming fits some nights because of it (we could hear him three houses up).

One of the nicest guys you could meet and he doesn't let it affect his life either.

Although judging by this guys scars the type was put down lower on him most likely upper body, pinning his arms in place.

Why is the guy on his knees? Is he tied to something? It's just that usually when someone is on fire surely they run around and flap about trying to extinguish the fire.

All the same, pretty gruesome. It is hard to fathom man's inhumanity to fellow man at times.

i almost cant explain what looking at this just did - its kinda like slipping in & out of consciousness... like you cant really be seeing it...

execute the people who do it or .. or something... jesus thats horrific...

Its the same feeling i got looking at that girl who was attacked by her "friends on youtube" by 8 girls who kept punching her in the face. Her father didn't recognise her, all 8 girls have been arrested for it...

I remember them showing footage of one of those on the BBC news in the '80s when the ANC and Zulus were at war. Pretty horrific.

I will admit to morbidly clicking on those links, a not very healthy part of me wants to see. It's horrific. Hopefully one day the world will advance to the point where this doesn't happen.

Eh, it was black people who did this to black people. The black South Africans are attacking and killing black immigrants. If you look at the pictures, it was actually a white person putting the fire out on the poor man.

It is funny how people will automatically think white people for these type of incidents.
