ryanair winning dub kerry route

    If the govt is serious about green issues then heres one...
    Why give the new public service contract to ryanair as useing a 737-800 on a 25 min hop to Dublin from Kerry is not very green to say the least.
    A 737 would use more fuel taxiing out from dublin airport to runway than an ATR would use in the entire route.............:confused:

    I guess its down to fuel consumption per passenger mile. If Ryanair can fill the seats, I guess the 737 is more efficient.

    189 seats 3 times a day, i :Ddoubt it except for all ireland weekend when the seat will be 649 euro!!!!!

    they won't fill the seats. On the Cork-Dublin route, they're sometimes only at 40% capacity.
