    Hi hipe someone can help.
Please you remember you are snswering a question to someone with limited knowledge on computers.
My pc picked up a virus and i couldn't remove it a restored to a previous point using the system restorer and that seems to of got rid of it. So far so good only now its running as slow as a wet week. This morning I tried for about an hour to open my inbox in yahoo and gave it. It is running grand in safe maode which is what i'm now using

It the past I've contacted dell and paid them to help solve and as it cost something 40 euro to be told which buttons to press I'm reluctant to give them another 40 for the same

    Thanks

Sounds like there is a process running in the background taking up all your CPU usage.

To Get up TaskManager, Press "Alt" + "CTRL" + "Delete" , you will see a different screen with different options. Click on "Task Manager".
When Taskmanager opens, click on the Processes Tab at the Top.
You will see a list of files/processes that are running on your computer.
Click where it says "CPU" at the Top, and see what the Top process using the CPU is. Write down the name.
Right click on it and try clicking "End Task" .

Let us know what the file is, if you were able to close it, and if that helped.

If that is not an issue, download "HiJackThis" and run a check with that. It will come up with a list of processes at startup, if you post the list here we should be able to tell you which ones to stop.

[Screen Shots are a good idea, just press the "Print Screen" in the top right of the keyboard, then open up Paint and click Edit -> Paste .... it will give pictures of what you are seeing].

Let us know if this helps.
