Thanks guys - just to clarify, when you say "full" restore am I right in assuming that from my 1.1.1 j/b ipod, I plug into itunes and
1/ Restore to bring me to an unjailbroken 1.1.1
2/ Update to bring me to an unjailbroken 1.1.4
3/ Use Ziphone or iLiberty (I've read iLiberty is better alright)

add to the sources menu the following:

applerepo.com

(then you should see in the general menu Iphone applications 1.1.1 and so forth)

Folks, I jailbroke my iPod Touch with iLiberty. I cannot seem to locate Chess, SIP-Voip etc in the downloads directory (Cyndia). Do I need to add some sources or should they be available already?

How can you get themes to work?
I have summerboard and a few themes downloaded but they are all the same. (plain black)
What could I be doing wrong?

try searching www.ipodtouchfans.com for something like "1.1.4 summerboard fix" or whatever firmware you're on.

JUst go to SMB Prefs on your Ipod desktop and select themes they should be in there!!

Is it possible to upgrade the firmware on any iTouch so u have the latest release with the latest apps?

Thats not too bad, got a brand new 16GB one still in plastic packaging for 260(touch wood its ok when i get it) if its not the latest firmware ill update it so. Where can i do the updating?

And any site for ipod noobs??

Well once you connect to iTunes it will check for updates so just download the latest one through that.

To get the official apps from Apple (nothing to do with jailbreaking). I think it's well worth it. You get Mail, Weather, Notes, Stock and Maps.

It is not worth it as you get far more with a jailbroken Ipod Touch 100's of themes and apps etc..All you have to do is downgrade your firmware to 1.1.1 which is easy you just need to acquire the firmware off the net somewhere (google it)..Also check out ipodtouchmaster.com he is the holy grail of jailbreaking and Ipod Touch apps so much that youtube.com banned him from uploading anymore!!

These apps have come preloaded on all Touch's since 1.1.3 was released sometime around Feburary.

Jailbreaking really is the only way to go anyway, it really brings so much more to the device.

I have got a problem with one of my apps , Locations.

It worked for the first week but now any time I click it and it opens it gets stuck on the loading screen.

Anyone seen this before? I have uninstalled and reinstalled but that didn't work

Same here.
I had it working when I was on 1.1.2 but never got it working when I went to 1.1.3 & 1.1.4, which was ages ago.
