You were right. It is the North Strand Rd where it begins at the Five Lamps.

    Oh right cool. :D

So, it begins at the cross roads then? :)

That scaffolding seems to be on St George's Church since the 1980s.

Apologies for the crap quality of this pic of a pic but can anyone hazard a guess as to where it is.

It's not Dollymount and it does indeed look like a wild west scene.

(PS - it's a very well know spot now usually for the wrong reasons! ;) That pic is from the 1970s.)

Ha ha I can imagine what type of place you are talking about,,, not a customed to visiting them tho.. lol...

The only one that comes to mind is view point... but it wouldn't be a very good one if your looking up at the mountains instead of down from them...

EDIT: blonde moment... why on earth would they have a betting office in the mountains at view point ha ha...

I give up... but I am really curious now ... so hurry up people get posting lol... ;)

It's the part of Sean MacDermott Street they renamed to Cathal Brugha Street when they built the new apartments to replace the buildings on the left.

More or less looking from the exit of the Qpark car park towards the lights at Gardiner Street.

I'm going to put them and the newer versions, taken by the kid on my site soon.

The photographer's name was Tommy Ward. Here's one of Summerhill:

Once known as the 'posh' end of the street.

I can't wait to see them.

I think I may have known him. I think I'm at present in touch with his daughter or granddaughter about a history of that area.
    Here's one of Summerhill

Very shortly before demolition I'd say. I can't get enough photos of that area.

Thank you for posting that one.
