Try a standard hdmi cable from your playstation ,along with this adapter for your monitor http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=337872

    Or you could buy http://www.powercity.ie/?par=30-70-HDM3D

Neither option will give you sound ,you'll have to use the AV Multi lead that came with the ps3 ,use red and white for sound.

Sorry I should have mentioned that these are the speakers I have. Logiteck X-540. They do not have optical. If I was to use the display as you suggested, I don't think that would leave me with an audio option!? I reckon the second link i posted is my best bet possibly!?

    Heres the deal ,

The first link is a PS3 to component cable , however your monitor only has DVI and VGA , and while these take component , its not the same type of component as the playstation outputs ,

The PS3 outputs YUV /ypbpr type component , and VGA uses RGB type component , these are both called component video , but completely different and not compatible with each other.

So , yes , your second link is the option to go for.

I didn't realise the monitor didn't support HDCP.

Sorry Fizman ,mathias is right on the ball.
