after euro 2008...............see i told ya man :D

Benfica or Barcelona are being linked with Sven? Well at least he might get to move to somewhere nice and warm, so he might not feel so shafted :)

Really not too sure how Big Phil would do at club level. Seems the type of manager that is suited to international, but could be a bit of a hot-head when it comes to the day to day runinng of a club.

There is no doubt that Sven is getting shafted, but had they got Mourhino in, then it may have been understandable. However, Big Phil to me, on paper anyway, seems like a like for like swap at best.

    City make offer to Scolari

    £3.2 million a year

Scolari a better club manager than Sven? Only time will tell I suppose.
There must have been a serious difference of opinions between Sven and Thaksin at some stage during this season. Its the only reason I can see for this current farce...and WHAT a farce it is!

Nothing definite yet but apparently he's met with Rui Costa in Manchester. Costa is now some sort of director of football there.

Well here sports agencies saying he actually signed 3 years contract today, that was last news

He hasn't signed anything because if he did it would be in breach of his current contract. He is still the manager of Manchester City Football Club so if he engaged in another contract he would lose the compensation he will get when the club do sack him.

Well i am just reading what i see, maybe its some pre-contract?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 41,149 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

Pretty sure he can only sign a pre-contract for when his contract is actually up, and that is not at the end of this season. Same way players can only sign pre-contracts in January if their contract is that June.

Sven's making some decent coin from all these contract compensation packages.

How many years did he have on his City one?

Shame he's going, but it could all be forgotten depending on who comes on.

i read somewhere (could it have been the BBC? can't really remember) that his severance package has already been agreed upon with city (well it didn't way it outright, but it seemed to suggest so). £1million, which effectively makes him a free agent, as no one in their right mind would agree to a pay off while not being able to talk to other clubs.

Depends on the terms of his contract, no one could possibly know what loopholes and clauses might be in it.

Also his contract might already be terminated and a new one drawn up to cover the last couple of games.

Either way it doesn't make much of a difference, his gone - so long!

Sven seemed to be somewhat of a calming influence on Stephen Ireland too.

This could have bad consequences for the Irish team, imo.
