Moths. Eurgh. I mean the big ones now, I can catch the little ones in my hands and crush them (I do that all the time, my room is practically full of the bastards). But the big ones, and when you hit them out the way they just come flying back. It's like they have no sense of direction. If some giant robotic hand came flying down on you, you'd run the opposite way, not towards it. Moths are hairy buggers aswell. Also, daddy long legs. They might be harmless but bleh. Spiders aren't too bad, just, imagine waking up the find one on your face.

I have a phobia of bugs going into my ears.

Also - how are people afraid of rodents!? It's impossible.. =\

As a child I used to have a crippling fear of "Gray" aliens, I don't know what sparked it, but what made it worse was that i had a big interest in aliens, so it made it somewhat inconvinient for me, i used to watch programs on sky one and stuff about aliens and when they reconstruct the abductions, I'd immediatly cover my eyes. One of the more..unfortunate experiences for me though was when Chewits had a limited edition flavor or something out, and aliens were the main marketing gimmick.

The stickers that some shops put on sweets are bad too. Just thinking about them now brings a horrible taste in my mouth. This is the first time I've ever told anybody outside my family, nobody else has a clue.

    Yes, I'm insane.

Ahh me too! Just thinking about them stuck to my hands....ughhh

    Glass floors.

We were staying at this fancy hotel and in order to get on the terrace you had to walk over a glass floor. I couldn't do it. I was really standing and crying there while Himself was pissing himself laughing. :o

I love swimming, even won championships but f\ck me i can't go near the sea. Sharks and the fact that the whole massive body of water is full of rotten fish/fish poo. I get that paranoid caveman feeling when i'm in the sea. Funny because i shagged a bird once that looked like thats where she came from.

EDIT: I also have a mate that is afraid of all condiments, it's great fun at a BBQ when someone put ketchup on his burger.

Emory Boards (used for filing nails, someone always does this on the Cork train home at the weekend and I actually have to excuse myself until they are done,)
OH MY GOD!! I thought I was the only one! Don't worry, I feel your pain!;)
Those things make me shudder...if I see anyone filing their nails I have to leave the room.

My biggest phobia is wasps. My mam told me I was stung by one as a child so that may have led to it (although I can't remember ever being stun)

I have another one I've never admitted to before: I'm afraid of cycling. You will never ever see me on a bicycle because I will fall and die! (at least in my head that's what I think will happen)

My sister thinks I'm afraid of tomato ketchup because I utterly detest it and squirm when I see anyone eating it. I hate the sight and smell of it too, and I can't stand the noise it makes coming out of the bottle. I'm not sure if it's technically a "phobia" though.

I'm not afraid of spiders, but I don't like them, especially since I woke up one night and one was crawling across my lip. That was unpleasant, to say the least!
Another time I woke up and there was one trapped in my alarm clock! That wasn't as scary as it was bizarre. We had open the clock to free it!:D

I'm afraid of veins. I have a terrible fear of the ones in wrists especially. I cant even look at my own wrists or anyone else's. I cant touch them, wear watches or bracelets and freak out if anyone touches them.

I think it comes from when I was seven and in hospital, the doctor was trying to put a drip in my hand but having great difficulty as they were so small that he couldn't find a good vein, he stuck the needle into the right one about ten times before preceding to do the same on the left. Strangely enough I dont really mind injections as long as I dont have to look.

I am almost as bad with the backs of ankles, I can't bear anyone touching me there or even touching them myself. I think its the thought of something going through that bit of skin where there is no bone underneath.

Ok so a mate of mine was proud of himself for hoovering up a spider all on his own. He's terrified of them and his pride dropped significantly when we told him the spider most likely survived the hoovering and is now making spider babies in his hoover who are all instructed to kill him in his sleep. All Irish spiders are harmless though so why the irrational fear? And my real question is what Phobias do other people here have and why?

    im scared of butterflies

I have a friend who has a phobia of toilet roll holders- the sight of one makes her vomit with fright

Another friends scared of cheese(I KNOW)

    Another is scared of trees!

Hairy moths. As a kid holidaying in my aunts, lots of trees around the house. Being the youngest, bed early, hairy moths flying around the room. When the light was turned off I heard plop plop either side of the pillow  The f*****s were planning to sleep with me. Every night after that the shoe squashed every moth in sight:eek:

    Heights
    Spiders
    Wasps(German wasps are huge!)

Woke up one morning and there was a huge one flying around my room, waited till it landed and took it out from point blank with my pellet gun, closed the window before any of his buddies showed up. I hate living next to trees, cant open my window even though its roasting because the wasps and spiders will come to get me!:(
