I was quoted near €8000 last year for an Escort RS2000 and €3800 for a Subaru Impreza, but quotes had an excess of €4000, so really I was looking at €12,000 & €7800

most i was ever quoted was 3k on a citroen saxo vts, that was when i just turned 18 and got my pink licence in the post. few months later and i have one insured properly for 2200. still a lot, but soooo worth every penny of it:D:D:D

Paid IR£2300 (€2900) on my first car, a 1ltr TD Charade. That was with a full license, 22yr male, in 2001.
So insurance has got cheaper, contrary to popular belief.

    close, Donegal.:p
but those TD charade's were animals of cars, 50bhp (on a good day) and a top speed of 65mph (going off a cliff)
And i'm pretty sure if i had been in an accident in it, it would have simply disintegrated and done no damage to any other car, tree, wall, dog, small child.
