Some good points here so i'll add in my 2c

First love pretty much moved in with another guy the same day she dumped me. TBH I was more than delighted as everytime I tried to dump her she always made me take her back so when she did this she was all upset yet I had the smile of a cheshire cat!

That made me determined not to stay in a dead relationship ever again.

Next GF she sent me a stupid txt I dumped her end of story, pretty heartless but thats the way it is. She ran off to another country for a year.

A few others ups and downs.

But they have made me the good catch I am today, I'm not a jealous lunatic like I used to be. I'm probably too relaxed if you ask my current GF.

Without all those experiences I wouldnt be who I am today. My Gf wouldnt be who she is without her own experiences. Some people just handle it others dont.

Brown bread, REAL BUTTER, ham, sliced cheddar cheese, lettuce and cucumber is nice.

Bit of salad cream if I can get it.

    Guys,
    What do ya reckon?

    I'll elaborate.

There are a lot of females out there, nice females, who have had long term boyfriends who have dumped them (or vice versa).

This tends to leave them scared to get into anything serious, or to commit, for fear of getting very badly hurt again.

So, us blokes go out, meet a girl or two, as you do, only to discover she has been badly hurt. She still seems nice enough though. If you pursue it further, on either a couple of dates, or a casual thing(F**k buddy), you realise that they are, in fact, mental, based solely on the mental anguish received when said previous long term relationship ended. This may be permanent, but usually only lasts a couple of years. Also, the level of mental-ness is based on how recent the break-up was.

I always wondered why ya see 30 yr old blokes goin for 18/19/20 yr old girls, but now I know!!

Has anyone else any opinions of this? It seems to be all the decent women who actually are ruined, coz all the headwreckers couldnt get a fella to ruin them in the first place!

lol and I'm not jsut sayin this to get a reaction!! In my opinion, younger girls are much easier to get on with than 21/22 yr old, post-relationship girls as they havent been treated like crap by men. Whereas 21/22 yr olds have been through it all, have experienced the pr*cks and have lost all faith in mankind, so are less open, and can basically be pure bitches, or completely mental!!

you go for younger than 21? What age are you?

Well to be perfectly honest I disagree with such age gaps, more so from the guys perspective than the girls. Girls want older, more mature guys. However, for a guy of 29 to get involved with a 19 year old, it's pretty pathetic and all it says to me is he can't impress anyone his own age so needs to prey on young, vulnerable girls.

now now, in fairness you dont know what dudess looks like. i was 27 when i hooked up with a 17yr old and she had tits bigger than my head (dont worry i waited til she hit 18, which drove her nuts as she hit on me):D

in regards to the OP i put alot of the nuttyness down to the mixed signals girls get over what theyre supposed to be. as well as the breakups. ive found most 20 somethings a messed up in regards to the whole career thing and spend far too much time poncing about insted of just being themselves. teenagers are still in college and the thirty somethings have their act together so there doesnt seem to be so much insanity abounding around them

You judge a girls age on the size of her tits? Well I think my case is closed there, intellect like that (or lack there of) wouldn't impress a woman of 27, would it?

Two pints of Guinness and two brown sauce sambo's. Lash it on good and thick.

On topic, Irish women are peculier. Especially around the 18-21 age. They confuse me. :(

hey, YOU asked why a 29yr old guy would go for a 19yr old, i didnt say you'd like the answer!

fact is most guys go out with girls circa 5yrs their junior. the girl i was with hit on me, she was built like a porn star and i'dve been nuts to say no. and TBH it was one of the best relationships ive been in. certainly beats the mid 20s nutters

depends on the 27yr old doesn't it? and i think he means that he found her physically attractive, so what he wanted was there. just because he wants something pretty to look at then doesn't mean he couldn't match the sophistication of an older woman

To be fair, some 17 yr olds are very mature while some 27yr olds aren't. thats not a dig at connundrum or anything but age isn't necessarily indicative of maturity, i.e. Age doesn't equal Maturity.

You're blaming men haha not the case. Many (if not most) girls nowdays don't even bother with relationships and just dive straight into promiscuous bedhopping - so your premise is weak.

The modern woman is born pre-pissed. That's where you're getting it wrong, it's not a learned behaviour!

Yes, by 21/22 women are ruined. Not physically, but psychologically (from their own inflated sexual egos).

To be fair, I've only ever been interested in older guys anyway (weirdly enough I've been talking about the very same thing today on a thread over in PI). But when I was under 18 and in school I didn't bother seeking out older guys as I felt it was inappropriate. I can't understand why an older guy would go out with a schoolgirl but after that, it's a bit more fair game.

this was ages ago, there was a bit of hue and cry about changing that back then so i decided to err on the side of caution.

besides it was only a two months wait :D

weird being at her 18th with the whole family though, kept expecting the da to beat the **** out of me for being a perv but the ma and grandma loved me !

personality wise she SEEMED a bit of an airhead but she was an enourmous amount of fun to be with and some of the stories she told me about her modeling days would turn your hair white. she was quite smart under all that blonde.

EDIT. shoult point out we met in work ! just incase you guys think im trawling schools :)

It's easy to say that from the perspective of being older (I'm nearly 30, I can see where you're coming from) but you've got to remember back to when you were 21/22. It is possible to have been in a long-term relationship by that age - e.g. one that started at 17/18.

At 22, I'd been with someone for three years and just broken up with them. It's actually quite common really.
