I've been rather successful with this today, so I reckon others should try it out for the laugh.

Its a well known FACT, that "Do the Hustle" is the single most catchiest tune that was EVER invented. With this in mind, I set about whistling the tune in crowded areas around my building, like in the canteen at breakfast/lunch, and around my dept while at my desk etc.

This resulted in a flurry of copy-cat whistlers and singers. Everyone now has the song in their head, and find it quite impossible to remove it from their head. This is in part due to the catchy nature of the song, but also that if they do manage to remove it from their head, the person next to them will also be singing it, thus making the song stick in their head once again.

So I say to you, fellow boardsies, go forth and annoy!! Whistle this song throughout the day and notice the mood change from the standard boring office mood, to one of 1970's disco glory!!

Meh, very few people here would remember it - or even have been born when it was out, but it's often played on oldies shows. E.g. Carwash on Today FM, Saturday nights. I'd say you'd recognise it all right.

LOL Great idea! I actually did it at work last year with a Lily Allen song (you know that one: "sun is in the sky oh my oh my, I don't wanna be anywhere else"). Worked a treat.

I used to always do this by whistling the tune to Sesame Street.

The opening bar of Grange Hill is another great one if you have access to speakers and youtube.

i'd recommend doin it in the mornin!! it'll give the disease more time to propogate, and also, coz everyone will have that friday feelin.....

make sure its "do the hustle" else it just doesnt have that same effect!!

the ultimate im of this is to have everyone in the place spontaneously burst out in the dance for the hustle, also called "The Hustle" as far as i know.
