    I had to phone the vetting to ask them a question and they just informed me that my vetting is in its final stages!!!

    so it looks like the august intake for me then with any luck (fingers crossed)

    they contacted me this afternoon just confirming i have had no changes in circumstances or anything so they must be doing the rounds over the next few days then.

    congrats wannabecopper,look forward to meeting you and everyone else.

    im back at university doing my finals,but i'm starting to get really excited about it.

    Hi all, I applied for the psni exam and am going to be sitting it in Dublin on the 21st of May. I had applied for the guards twice previously but did not get it so I decided to give this a shot aswel!! I dont have any idea what they exam is like...does anyone kno what actually comes up...is it similar to the garda exam does anyone know cos I dont know what to study?:confused: Im from Cork aswel is there anyone else from the south applying!!:D

    I dont think anything can really prepare you for the exam, i just did crossword puzzles with a time restriction, reading and maths puzzles.

    I found the hardest thing was the time constraints, if you cant answer a question move on and dont worry if you dont answer all the questions because 99 percent of the people in the exam wont finish the papers in time either.

    Just give it 110%

    PCSOs are just a way for the government to get coppers on the cheap, and take advantage of people in the process by paying them much less than the role really demands i.e. full police wage. It's not something we should be yearning for or supporting!

    Congrats to everybody who received that long awaited phone call today!!!

    Anybody able to provide some sort of range regarding merit numbers being called at min, if that makes sense? i understand its hard to prob do... Just trying to give myself hope or prepare for the dreaded dear john letter!!!! Many Thanks .... p.s i'm mid 300's

    Just a bit of curiosity here, What happens if the call you and your not next to your phone or if the phone is turned off?

    would they phone back later / send a letter?

    They call you up, but a letter with a starting pack is also sent out incase you miss the call.

    It seems they're taking up to 54 -55 marks from the assessment centre? Correct me if i'm wrong but that’s what Officer problem and Wannacopper got ? I hope they take up to 53 marks. low 300s merit pool.
    Congrats to all you successful candidates. really jealous ;)

    My mark was 55 in assessment centre, merit number between 200-210, non RC background - if that helps anyone? :confused:

    when did you all send off your vetting forms? Where any post xmas or was it november time.
