    That sucks.

    Down in good ol Florida theres lightning everyday but I think less than a dozen people get killed every year. More people then that get struck directly; usually when standing at a window or talking on a phone. Even more people seem to have their houses ripped in half by a thunderbolt.

    But here it just seems a terribly freak occurence. The last time I heard about lightning it managed to hit an eircom transformer or something (which had no surge protection for its phonelines) so it blew out just about every connected PC modem in ennis.

    RIP kid.

    The real danger of "lightening" is not being able to spell it properly.

    Not for me it wasnt. The only computer store in the area was a hole in the wall, owned by an overly-egotistical old ****. Had to go back twice cos his replacement modems were crap. Also because the exact same thing happened less than a month later in another storm.
