play.com holding packages

Is the rumour true that play.com packages are held in a warehouse in Shannon for a period of time for no good reason? I think I read that rumour on here years ago, but no evidence to back it up. It just took 30 days to get a DVD shipped from there to here, wondered if it was true. Anyone know?
