    Can anyone settle a bet between myself and a cousin.Are gardai allowed to use phones with handsfree kits whilst driving and on duty?He says they are and i say they are subject to the same laws as everyone else

    They certainly are, they are exempt from certain legislation in the course of their duty.

    Imagine your gaff was being burgled: would you they prefer them to speed to your house and catch the scum or would you prefer that they first go park somewhere that didn't have double-yellow lines? :rolleyes:

    Yes, they can use mobiles. From what I've read here the radio system they use isn't secure, a total shambles tbh

    Whats wrong with use a phone with a handsfree kit while driving? I thought people were being encouraged to do this

    sorry i meant without handsfree.anotherwards driving with it up to their ear
