Looking for guitarist who also plays Banjo/Mandolin! Or (ideally) lead guitarist with a Guitar Synthesizer? Kildare/Laois area. Middle of the road music inc a lot of Trad. Vocals would be a bonus 2!! :)

    hey crazy chester...

if its more mandolin/banjo sounds youre after i have yet to hear a synth that doea an even passable impression of those...

what does exist out there is the Line 6 Variax... google it. its not a guitar synth. it has a piezo pickup which picksup the vibrns of your strings just like a normal acoustic pickup and then inside it it converts it into the sound of LOADs of different guitars.

to be honest it shouldnt sound good but it does IMO. and it doesnt get too many bad reviews out there either.. mostly good. great for giggers.

does acoustic guit, fender strat, telecaster, gibson 12 string acoustics, banjo, resonator guitars the works... but you gotta be sure to route the acoustic sounds straight to PA or better still thru and acoustic amp, only electric sounds thru electric amp.. the guitar has 2 outputs for that so its easy to do,,,

i tried one out and gotta say i liked it alot.. its on the shopping list ;)

    cheers
    D
