First i couldn't believe my eyes, but it was true, a Swastika above my neighbours door. It's strange though, that the first thing that entered my head was the Nazis, but after Wiki'ing the Swastika, it's also a sysbol for many other things.

I've a large Buddha with a swastika on the chest on my mantle (always fun when I've less informed jewish people over). They could be Buddhist, Hindu, both religions use the swastika.

It's also some kind of fertility symbol. There's a town in Ontario, Canada called Swastika. It was named in the early 1900s though and the inhabitants refused to change it's name just because the Nazi's adopted.

I would imagine that the design team were so intent on following the guidelines on designing military structures that they never noticed.

Probably never saw the whole picture.

    Maybe he is a Nazi?

OP, you're lucky. Most people have no clue who they're living beside; at least you have a fair idea.

Maybe, but I doubt they would publicise the fact so blatantly.

It's a sad reflection that many people don't understand the history of the Swastika. It's quite interesting how it became a symbolf for totally unrelated cultures, American Indians through Vikings through Bhuddists. A US military unit had the swastika as its insignia until the early 1940s.

Check which way the arms go. If they're pointing anti-clockwise, he's definitely a bhuddist.
