This may not be a malware issue, but I think it could be (or it could be that fuse that blew in my house the other day).

Basically, I can no longer open tabs, and when I try, I get the dreaded white screen of death on IE. If I even press the TAB key, the internet freezes. Its really, realy annoying.
I tried restarting, and the first time the "volume was dirty", and chkdisc ran itself, same problem. Tried again, restarted fine, but problem still there. It is incredibly irritating.

Try running internet explorer in No Addons mode (Starts it without addons and such), should be a shortcut on the start menu for it in XP, Vista just search for internet in start menu and click the links when it appears, -extoff seems to be the shortcut parameter to disable addons on vista at least!

you could just re-install IE7. if its XP u should have the install file, on Vista just remove it from the control panel.

    Firefox is better tho :D

I should have said that I am using XP.
I am really late for something, so I will try these later and see how they go.
    Thanks for the replies.

Works with no add-ons, so it must be an add-on causing the trouble (sherlock) hmmmmm.

    Got it.
It was Google, in the browser, with the toolbar.
