Fighting/Scaps/Brawls

Any of you ever been in a fight/s and if so how many and what was it like. Strange to ask but i'm interested to know people accounts of fight they've been in.

I've really only been in two. One when i was seven(Which i lost) Me and a former friend got into a craps, on thing led to another and he got me in the nose, that's pretty much how it ended

Second fight i had was one no one in my family knows about because i haven't told them(Not that it makes any difference) But i was in a fight when i was in third year with this guy who i had an argument with in my junior engineering. We just came to digs in the class but we stopped when the teacher came back, after class we made up.

So any of you's got any stories

Only on the hurling pitch, never in a pub or social situation. Guy spat in my face, looked a tad surprised when I didn't take it too well and punched him pretty damn hard. Couple more punches before he put his hands up to protect his face and squealed for the ref. Pulled off him but the ref did nothing cos he'd seen the spitting incident. He was a big guy but quite the coward when it was put up to him. Wouldn't like to be in a scrap with alcohol involved - I'm not a fighter and not too sure I'd be able to look after myself

A scumbag swung on one of my mates out of the blue once ( just as he was walking past ) and I pushed him away.

Had a bit of a scuffle and it ended with him trying to headbutt me, didn't work all that well as I was wearing a woolie hat. He just stalked off after that

I aviod fighting.

.. once a guy set on me outside a nightclub.. i insisted on not fighting..

He swong at me and missed. I swong.. and didnt miss.. right on the button...

Im not proud of it.. i think its only nackers that get involved in street fights.

I've been in a few but talk most people who try to start something down. Doesn't happen anymore since I'm an adult, and most other adults act accordingly, but happened when I was a teen, little hard men starting fights for no good reason. Then they won't talk it out, they just want a fight, start walking away and they'll have no problem getting you from behind so better off just swinging a few and letting that be that.

Hasn't happened in years though, I think most people just grow out of it, or people go their own way (i.e knackers stick with knackers, decent people stick with decent people and they don't mix, whereas when teenagers they're all at the same clubs/pubs etc)

Only real one was on the GAA pitch. One of our lads stupid foul on another player, their lad elbows back at him, then another lad of the other team runs in, then I'm next. It was more part of a brawl, rather than individual.

Anyway, we ended up on the sideline(dont know how, plus all thirty players were in now), and one lad went to swing. I hooked his arm when he reached back, and elbowed him in the side of the head. Doing more restraining work, but this lad was escaping, so kinda lifted him and turned into the fence around the pitch. When all was sorted, I then nearly came to blows with another lad...who was my PE teachers new husband:D

I'm not actually a violent guy though.

Pikey fights and GAA fights are similar on so many levels.

It's just a pity the GAA players don't have access to weapons.

Yes, just this weekend my cousin got a bottle across the head by some knacker and all hell broke loose, big massive brawl on the street with half the town fighting each other, more or less all the GAA people versus all the scumbags, i was pulling my cousin out of the fight when i got a box across the head so then i got yer man back a few slaps, i wouldnt normally fight but if you get hit your goin to defend yourself like.

Other than that nothing major, a few scraps on the hurling field but all harmless enough stuff.:pac:

been in a few, the majority were in competition, but over the last few years i've only really been in one. I was in a club some guy drunk off his face started on my mate and started saying he was a queer, my mate tried to ignore it. I was sober, the guy was drunk and to cut a long story short ended up wrecking my knuckle off the back of his head and he ended up getting kicked out and collapsing outside (probably from alcohol). My right knuckle is twice the size of my left now and i'm seriously regretting ever engaging him.

P.S without naming the club, the bouncers saw the fight and asked me if i wanted to take him out back to finish him when they were kicking him out, to which i responded "

I got involved in the odd swing at a GAA match, or shove-offs in primary school, but nothing major. People start on me lots though, but i dunno, i've managed to avoid coming to any kind of blows so far.

Years and years ago my brother ( age 5) was getting picked on by an older kid. It was winter and he was getting snowballs thrown at him repeatedly.
He was getting upset, and I( being the older sister) asked the kid doing it to stop.
He didn't, so I stepped in to stop it and yer man threw a punch at me.
Hit me in the mouth and knocked out one of my teeth ( I was 7 and probably had a few loose teeth ready to come out) but still, I was like wtf you knocked my tooth out, so I swung a punch at him.
Twas the only fight I've ever been in( I'm a lover, not a fighter!) but dammit I had to step up then.

I'd run from it now !

Tbh, if a guy tried to pick a physical fight with you now, laughing at him would be the better solution.

But i can't so i tend not to worry about it as now i don't get in stupid fights.

yeah, occasionally some people have taken umbrage at my existence, this results in a square off, them throwin a few punches (sometimes stingy) me remainin standin whilst laughin at the general Pi$s weak effort of punchin, them gettin angrier and losing the head, them flailin around like a lunatic, me with a few well placed kicks, down they go.

guy got the better of me once a while ago, we were scrappin I lost footing and ended up flat on me back with him kneelin on me chest swingin punches inta me face. I caught his right fist as it came in, got a hold of his little finger with both my hands and snapped it.

quietened him down fierce quick;)

Not really. Spilled a guys drink in a nightclub one time, he was locked and tried to heabutt me but I just bowed my head down, and he cracked his nose off the top of my head. Fell right over in a heap. I just walked off lol. Best method there is for defending against a headbutt.

Normally try to talk my way out of a physical confrontation, although was forced to defend myself just once the last time in Dub from a large bloke that had too much to drink, who followed, and cornered me. I know a bit about taekwondo and self-defense, and fortunately my kicks and punches dropped him, long enough to let me run away.

Haven't been in a fight since I was ten. About 20 travellers came over to our estate looking for a fight, so whatever mood we were in, a mate and I obliged. The traveller ("Johnny Cash") got a haymaker in the side of the head which knocked him on his arse and then my Mum saw and dragged me inside.

Yep, well compared to most peoples reply's it's going to sound like i've been through a fair few, but I honestly do avoid fighting whenever I can and only use it as a last resort.

*When I was younger I was in a fair few probably one every month or two, was a tough area.

* Plenty in GAA match's. I once heatbutted a guy after we lost a cup final - I felt bad about this afterwards.

*Once my girlfriend was hit over the head with a wooden plank when we were walking home one night ended up with me trying to fight off 3 scumbags.

* Was in a gang fight before when a group of us got attacked by a load of nagers when we were passing a park that was not pleasent at all.

* God primary school was like a war zone.

I could go on and on...I bloody hate fighting.

Well I was just peacefully on my way to the bingo when I stopped to use the cashpoint. Suddenly Romanians appeared waving their newspapers in front of the screen! Knowing I only had seconds to act I dropped into my fighting stance, did a backwards ninja backflip on the first fella and then matrix wall-kicked the other. I then went on my way pondering the state of the nation today.

I blame the Guards.

And bouncers.

And those immigrants stealing our jobs and wimmins.

I havent had a serious fight in a while apart from the odd scummer trying it on but usually I just go crazy and they get scared. A few years ago myself and a friend at the time had a fight, we were about 12 and really kicking the **** out of each other in a field in the pouring rain, then he rolled over onto the bottom of a bottle that was sticking out of the ground and impaled him. We laughed for a good hour while lying in muck soaking wet!

Another when I was about 8 a local scummer hit me and floored me. 10 years later he tried it again but now i was bigger than he. While he was on the ground I didn kick him in the nuts and said "that was for 10 eyars ago!"

A couple of handbag type school fights.

My most serious was about 3 years ago. Was at a gig with the then GF. Place was packed but this guy just kep bumping into her really hard on purpose, So i told him to relax and he was acting tough so I just said **** off. I didnt see him til the end of the night when he and his 2 mates were hammered and decided they were going to kick the living **** out of me! I told the GF to keep on walking. Floored one of the lads with a sweet punch to the nose but then was about 35%* of the way through a serious kicking when a lad I worked with seen in and saved the day.

I remember when Killswitch engage played last year this poor chap got hopped on outside trhe ambasiter in Dublin by 5 scummers, they absulutly killed him for nothing, about 2000 people outside watching it not one got involved to help( Neither did I though), ended up having to have an ambulance come and take him away from the beating he took.

A guy started on me on a nightlink before and got off at the same stop as me. He insisted was bigger than me so i didnt want to. I ended up getting him on the ground and gave him a serious beating out of sheer fear. When he gave up i was just about to get on my feet when a kick came out of nowhere and knocked me out. Someone kicked me in the face, broke my nose and severed an artery!!! Spent a week in hospital and over a month until my face looked semi normal again :mad:

Been in a few but usually because of someone else if i think about it.

I got knocked about by some 20ish yr old when i was 14 for asking him the time

It was the only real time i felt totally helpless.

About 18months ago the brother of a mate starts giving this guy stick on the way home. Within a minute about 8 of this guys mates show up and start laying into us. If the guards hadnt show up as quickly as they did we woulda been in serious ****. As you can imagine i was well pissed off with the drunken muppet for being an ass.

Got into a bit of a scuffle in D2 (club on harcourt street) once. Long story short, a guy picks on a mate of mine and gets him in a headlock and starts ripping into him. I jump on your mans back and try to pull his neck back so he has to release my mate, i realise that this guy is built like a tank and i'm doing squat so i jump off. Literally the second i jump off, my mate (who was stil holding his pint) smashes it over this guys head who then stumbles away. All i could think at the time was that i was lucky i jumped off when i did or i'd probably have lost an eye since i woulda gotten that pint glass right in the kisser.

There were a few others but those were the "memorable" ones.
I guess what i've noticed is that i'll stick up for my mates but rarely start anything myself (if i get started on i usually manage to defuse it).

Thankfully I haven't been in any fights since primary school... Not too eager to get in one either.

The closest I've come in recent years, I was in Barcode nightclub and a bloke came out of the toilets with (probably) water all over him. I saw fit to make a joke about it

and he got a bit hostile so I indulged him. He grabbed me a bit and a (female) bouncer noticed and said somethin like "hey hey hey, relax!", so he let go and said "you have no idea what you just got yourself in for" (or somethin like that).

And I never heard from him again
