Whats the best way to get the output from the Sky+ box in my sitting room to the new TV in my kitchen. I see power city do a remote link kit, but it seems to require linking the TVs with co-ax and I don't fancy stringing that amount of co-ax around my house. is there any decent wireless option?

also can anyone recommend a cheap FTA box?

There are wireless video senders available from most electrical retailers, or indeed Argos.

Might not be suitable if you've wi-fi.

A good FTA box, in my opinion, would be a Technomate TM5200 D USB, which has a USB slot for recording onto HDD or uSB memory. Or, maybe its predecesssor is cheaper now, the TM 1000 (doesn't have USB).

Concur with Byte the Technomate is a truly brilliant receiver....and the USB slot is quite handy..don't recommend wireless senders if walls are thick or distance is quite far..

ok - on a related note:

there is a (now disused) NTL point beside the sky+ box, which feeds back to a junction box outside the front door. AFAIK there is also a cable from here to a (currently blanked) point in the kitchen. If I wired these 2 cables together at the junction box could I use them for the remote kit? And how can I test which cable goes to the kitchen when there is no signal on them (can it be done with a multimeter?).

You should be able to use these cables , but they are likely to be very lossy. If the runs are relatively short you may get away with it. To trace the cables with a multimeter, undo wall plate, remove cable and short outer braid to inner core.
Set multimeter to resistance measurement (or the setting that beeps when the probes complete a circuit) .
Use 2 f connectors and a f barrel to join the cables.
To compensate for cable loss, reset the RF output frequency as low as possible. Press services- picture settings-01 -select to enter installer menu to change settings. Start with 21 , re tune tv to suit, any interference ,try 22 ,re tune, and so on. If using a magic eye install RF power is set to on and that any face plates used allow power to pass through. (No little circuit with resistor at back of plate)

Is there much difference in loss of signal in using 2 Belling-Lee connectors and a female-female barrel, over using the "F" solution above?

I have a similar set-up (attic>front door>living room), and while the DTT trial is fine, analogue is rubbish, using Belling-Lee connectors. Am I likely to see an improvement in analogue by using the F connectors and barrel?

I found the Philex Superwand a good AV sender system. I bought it from Amazon a little while ago and have since set it up. It works far better than the others have got from Maplin over the years. Remote always steady and the picture doesn't slip. I am in an old Victotrian granite house and transmit up three floors!

Does anyone know where I can get two spare receivers? Strangely Philex have given it up and the people selling through Amazon dont seem to want to reply to me.
