Mail/Postal options for Travellers in OZ

Hi Guys, I'm out in OZ doing the whole RTW trip thing. I vaguely remember a drunken conversation with someone along the way about being able to post packages to post offices in major cities, where they would hold the post for you until you arrived. Hi Guys,
I'm out in OZ doing the whole RTW trip thing. I vaguely remember a drunken conversation with someone along the way about being able to post packages to post offices in major cities, where they would hold the post for you until you arrived. I'm wanting to send some warm clothes over from ireland for when we go to NZ on the way back.

Has anyone ever heard of this option in OZ or other countries?

There's always a section about this in the front of any Lonely Planet, it's called some French name I think.
