so anyone have anyideas on a really cheap super quiet / supersmall case

thinking of putting my rig back together but i dont want to front for a case , i can probably get my hands on the atx backplate and drive cages for a case but i want to put it in / make somthing

I was thinking a nice cardboard box / eggcarton design topped off with ducttape and hot glue.

anyideas? or has anyone seen a cool cheap mod anywhere i could try out

the rig will be
e2160 clocked to its limit cooled By the thermalright Ifx-14 heatsink

radeon 2900xt
corsair 520w psu
4 gigs or 1066 ram
vista 64 bit
250 and maybe a 500 gig drive
Asus P5b Deluxe or msi neo2 Fir

I've got some old ass gateway towers in work you can have, i'm pretty sure they are ATX. They have nothing in them except for maybe a CD-R drive, a PIII mobo and a 200w PSU. I've salvaged everything else (even the CMOS battery, lol)

You are more than welcome to one as they are just going to rubbished anyway.

I had thought of doing something with one of them a while back but they are fugly, and made from rolled steel so i'd looking on taking out a loan to buy the cutting discs for my dremel, lol.

Now that i am employed the thread has had a bit of a rename , it is no-longer Project Cheapo , But EL PROJECTO STACKERO! , im already in a spanish mood

changed ma mind again!!
ima keep rocking my 2900Xt instead of splurging on a 4870.
its a shame to have this thing boxed up under my desk longing to be overclocked to the max , allot of case modding supplies has been shipped by caseking.de less the case and HDD module which were out of stock , they are in the process of refunding me the money into my bank account which is awesome.

hopefully order the rest of the parts with in the week.

Not a bad plan, There aren't many games that will stress a 2900XT around atm tbh... Get the 4870 (or whatever card is awesome) for Far Cry 2

dunno about temp difference , Temps were Quite similar maybe a bit cooler with the akasa , but the fact that the akasa was running 100% and much quieter than stock is a big Plus , its also Much Much lighter , and Better Looking

also took the sticker off , Wd40 does everything...

i dont actually know , it seems it was first put on the HS ,which was then screwed onto the card.... i put the pads on the ram them plopped the Cooler back on top, seems to be making good contact now , and it hasn't blown up so im happy ;D
