Hah, my wireless(home) has been acting up all week. I have resorted to internet cafe's or check my emails at work(i hate that) and i have to say i feel crippled. I can't check dublin bus, google news, cinema times, use vodafone online, facebook, bebo e.t.c and i hate it. I can't imagine life without the internet....

Doubt it, I use it to pay all my bills (mortgage, credit card, power, phone, etc) as I stopped them sending paper ones. It is far more convenient than taking a trip to the bank with their crazy opening hours. *shakes fist* I need it for work as well.
Aside from that I could quit anytime I want though. >_>

No , but it's more enjoyable when you have being away from it for about 12/24 hrs.Would not enjoy a continious life in front of the pc .

Definitely couldn't live without it. Too reliant on it altogether.

I don't have it at work, wouldn't have much time for it anyway.

Enjoy being on it at home though.

Hate being without it for any length of time. A couple of weeks ago was without it for a weekend and had genuine withdrawls. As above poster said though, good to be away from it for a 12-24 hour period and then go on it, not that that happens much tbh:rolleyes:

Its like the Mobile Phone we have become so accustomed to it that one wonders how you could have lived without them. Everything in society is now centered around the Internet, from social welfare, Job searching, purchasing a car, travelingon a plane, booking a ticket, buying clothes, aquiring the latest sound track etc. I have heard of people trying on exclusive garments in Grafton St and then buying the same stuff on line at half price. the days of the high street shops renting in expensive streets are numbered.

I think there is a big difference in fairness.

I could live without it if it was done away with tomorrow. Wouldnt like it but it wouldnt be as bad as no mobile.

Imagine a world were rather than the hassle of booking cheap flights online we could just go to some Ryanair office in town and book for maybe 5 euro more than now.

Id miss porn, Bebo and youtube, mainly because youtube

a- Gives access to ancient hip hop/dance vids MTV never bother showing

    b- Classic football

    Apart from that...meh.

Oh yeah, Im not sure Id have a job without it. Apart from that....meh.

As for mobiles I truly cannot fathom how the world existed without them. How the fcuk did a group of mates from different parts of the city meet in town at night? How did you get a birds phone number? Calling all the time from payphones if you had no landline.....jaysus!!!!

My laptop went on the blink on friday afternoon, no music, no chatting, no dvd's, I don't have a tv, couldn't do any of my millions of reports, started writing them by hand, then just read a book, thought i was going to go mad with boredom. Paid £50 quid for it to be fixed on saturday and am much happier now. All my friends live in cyber space. It is pretty sad, but what can you do when they all live all over the world. Was wondering what I did before facebook, internet etc...

I'm a computer nerd and spend a lot of time on the internet, but whenever I'm away from it doing something else I don't miss it. It's just something I use to keep me occupied really.

id definitely get better grades in college without it...and way more sleep

i dont even enjoy the time i spend on it because im always thinking "i should really get off the internet and do this that and the other"

OK.. I'll have a stab at this (being 32 thus old enough to remember the "world before mobiles" :D)

You called each other before hand and agreed to meet in a certain place at a certain time - and you were there! - same thing when meeting girls (although you always added on about 20 minutes in that case!) :)

I got my first mobile in 1998 and 10 years on, still have the same number - I don't understand how people can constantly change numbers without driving everyone mad! But I do remember getting a bus home in 1994/95 when some guy's mobile started ringing. Cue all the lads down the back slagging the "yuppie, poser" etc etc. Who'd have ever guessed that only a few years later, you'd be thought of as on the bread line if you don't have one!

Re the internet.. I use it as part of the job and would be lost without msn messenger for keeping in touch with mates that've since moved away and settled down, but while the laptop may be usually on, I'l be getting on with other things as well and I've no problem unplugging and spending some time in the "real world".

It wouldn't be living without the internet :|

I rely on the internet for resources for college and work that you can't get in hte library, etc, so it wouldn't be great if I didn't have the internet.

I sometimes find myself staring at the screen thinking 'I think I've just finished the internet' and I get bored but I always seem to find something to do online!

In my apartment I only have internet in my room and I've found that I value TV over the internet so I'm able to leave the computer alone!

In mammy's house we have wireless so if I'm home I spend the day online while watching tv.

But I could quit the internet, no problem!

If I didn't have the internet right now.. I would probably be doing something more productive.

I certainly could live without the internet but I wouldn't want to.

    I think I have a problem...

    Actually for me, having to live without the mobile or internet wouldn't be as bad as having to live without my music, i'd go completely mental without it, I even study whilst listening to music -_-;;

I lost my internet for a month there last year, it was shocking how much I actually rely on it. Madness!

i haven't watched tv in weeks.

I watch one or two tv programmes a year.

I'd be fine without the net, sure it would suck but there are a lot of books to read, and more board games to play.

No I doubt I could go for any period of time without the internet and I'd run out of books eventually! I wouldn't be able to buy more from Amazon...
