What does "<3" mean ?

I'm showing my age here. Try as I might, I'm not sure I get this, it's used a lot in the last year or so. My guesses so far:- 1) Love (kind of looks like a love heart) 2) Boobies/naked girl Is this a thing only used by the boards community? Thanks.

Heart or love. I Tayto. Probably came from IRC, doubt it is just on boards.
