Chimbonda you fool! Oh, so harsh these penalties.

Looks like it's up to Bolton to carry the PL torch.

Might be a good thing for Everton, now they can focus on getting that 4th place.

PHB, O'Hara is English, isn't he?

Bloody hell Darren Bent is a ham

Gomes did well to keep PSV in it towards the end

AAAAHHHAAAAAA!!!!!:D Please tell me someone else is watching TV3's farcical highlights coverage of tonights games......

Robbed in that they deserved to go through because of their performance.

O'Hara is English, but apparently he's eligible for Ireland, so I'm hopeful :P

Yes I decided to avoid finding out the scores of the matches and to instead watch the highlights on TV3. So after getting into the Everton/Fiorentina match which finished level at 90 minutes, TV3 decides to leave that match until later so we can see the Spurs/Eindhoven match. Um, what? Has any other channel ever done that?

It's not fecking Blind Date. "Let see how they get on later on shall we? Ta ra." Sheer muppetry.

Anyways I felt Spurs and Everton were desperately unlucky. Both Gomes and Frey pulled out some top saves to keep things all square. That was some goal from Berbatov too. He's a joy to watch. What a danger he'll be when we play him in the WC qualifiers.

Berbatov pisses me off watching him, the lad is class, no doubt, but the way he struts around the pitch with a moody head on him drives me mad! crack a smile lad for the love of god! even putting away his peno and after his cracking goal, he had more of an agressive "looking for a row" head on him.

Two penalty shootouts; two losses. Grim.

    bah.
was an enjoyable game tbh. pretty exciting. penos are harsh, but i learnt long ago not to be upset when you lose on them. its really a lottery.
although, i really never understood why keepers dive early. its far easier to try and save the crap penos, and there are always a couple. you'll never save a decently kick peno.

still, at least we have one piece of silverware and we already have european footy to look forward to again next year. now we can blood some younger players.

was impressed by OHara though. hes a great player. i think hes already decided to play for england though. and i wouldn blame him tbh.

Not long home from the game, have to say I'm very proud of the team and our travelling support who were superb all night.

Flight was delayed to Amsterdam then we found out there were problems with the trains to Eindhoven so bummed a lift off a mate of a mate, 3 hours in a Volvo Estate (how very Yid!) arriving just in time for kick off, then the guts two hours on a very slow moving train back to Amsterdam saw us arrive at our hotel at 3am, just in time to clean out the minibar! 4 hours kip then I was back up for the flight home.

Season's over, planning for next years starts today.

I know this is probably gonna sound like sour grapes from a bitter Newcastle fan, but...

lol at Jenas! When I heard he was stepping up I was 100% sure he would miss. Not since Batty stepped up for England have I been so confident of a player missing.
