    Hey all !

    Lately it seems someone has kicked my pc in the balls, my fps has gone to **** in numerous games im playing.

    In CSS it runs at about 100 fps and then for no reason it just drops to like 10-20 fps for a few seconds. This isnt just in firefights it happens when im leaving spawn or running to bombsite or whatever.

    I'm currently packing:
    Crucial Ballistix 1GB DDR2 x 2
    Intel Pentium 4 660 "LGA775 Prescott" 3.6GHz
    XFX GeForce 7800GTX 256MB

    Any idea what steps i can take to resolve this issue ?

    Probably more suited to here since it's not just CSS. Any more info? What has changed in your setup?

    Nothing has changed at all, it was grand one day and then this **** just started happening.

    Although my ISP has gone to **** these days (NThell) but im pretty sure that wouldn't affect my fps.

    And i prefer to post here thanks :)

    try virus scanning, adware scanning, defragging the game cache file for source, verifying the cache integrity for source, before you reformat =o

    i used to play it but steam kicked my firewall in the nuts...

    had an issue like this but i just reduced the game quallity... running 40-50 fps with half your pc's specs :|

    my suggestion that he try 1.6 wasnt retarded ****, it was an option for him to try and play a superior game while source didnt seem to work for him

    Especially since he is a mod of the forum :rolleyes:

    Nix format your pc, i used to get this all the time, format was the only way forward.
