I honestly can't see him doing that. Maybe its a running gag, and he did buy a rake of shirts in running with the gag. But I don't think he took a strop and decided to try and boost his popularity.

Article says he's sending them back home? Maybe to his old school as well as friends. There's probably a limit on how many he can get free.

Although he is my least favourite player (to put it mildly), I don't think its a vanity thing.
It's clear that its for the craic on the training ground.
