    Goodcopbadcop,

If you fall into the RC background then you are as good as in my opinion.

On this board we have a confirmed person in the high 700's that has been recruited from the same background so there’s no reason you won’t unless you’re even higher than this. Fail the medical or fail the vetting.

    Keep the chin up!

    Martin.

Thanks for the positivity Martin, I hope I do get a bit of luck as well. You never know do you, but still going ahead with campaign 14, can't rely on this one coming through good.

    Hi guys..

I was wondering if someone could give me their opinion on my application progress please.

I have had all the previous letter ie, the one from consensia stating that they are takin nothing more to do with the recruitment. I received a letter on the 22nd Feb 2008 from the PSNI stating that my name was sent to them in a merit list by consensia.

I have also previously sent back my vetting forms a few weeks ago, but have heard nothing back as yet...I also haven't been called for a medical, but the letter did say that i may be called in the near future.

My overall score in the AC was 52/70...does anyone know where about this would come in the Merit Pool?? And do you think my chances are over or should I remain optimistic?

    Many Thanks

52 doesn't seem like a bad score so you may be fine dependant on your backround.

Maybe if others post their results with their rough merit pool number then that'll give you a better idea.

I scored 62/70 which put me in the 30's.

    Martin.

Martin, thanks for your quick response mate.

I have just been confused reading through the posts here, about those who have had their medicals before Christmas etc, wen i hadnt even received word on the AC....was this a different campaign or that?? Excuse my ignorance lol..

Couldn't grasp why I hadn't had my medical while others had?

    Thanks again, Steve

I'm sure it will cheer up your weekend!!! Just make sure you pull all the stops out for campaign 14 just in case, as unfortunately nothing is guaranteed at this stage!!

At least it looks like it's going in the right direction!!

    Cheers.

    Hi all,
I've been following the forum and finally got around to registering. I applied for campaign 13 and have just been given my medical date. I heard nothing for ages and now this has given me a bit a bit of hope. My a/c score was mid 500's and so I hope I can squeeze in this year. Saying that I am getting married at the end of August and will be gone for two weeks so this may hinder my chances altogether. If anyone knows the score on this please let me know. Finally I'd just like to say well done and good luck to everyone that has got in so far. For the rest of hangin on lets just hope. :)

If they offer you a place before August then ask if you can defer until after your wedding. You might be given a day or two off for the wedding but definitely not weeks. They should be able to accomodate you and might ask for proof of venue booked or something along those lines. Good luck.

Hi all, this forum was highlighted to me by a friend. Some great info on here and good to hear you are all upbeat about your applications. It's a long process that confuses me slightly. I attended the AC in Nov 07 (62/70) and had my med in Feb 08 (passed.) My vetting form went off in Nov 07 also. I received a merit rating (in the 20's) and hear of plenty of people who have already been allocated drafts. Good on them, but a little feedback/info on my potential would be grateful. The reason I ask is because I have a commitment to HM Forces at present and the more warning I can provide them if successful will aid my (hopeful!) transition into PSNI.
I rang the recruitment branch who advised my vetting is being processed and just to wait out. Does this mean if my vetting is all ok I will be offered a training place, and if so, how flexible are the PSNI on amending training dates? I was told by recruitment branch that there are training dates every 5 weeks and are allocated up to 2010!
Apologies for the lengthy post but as I'm new thought I would get it all out at once.

    Regards

    JVB,

First of all well done!! Subject to successful vetting you are definately in.

I scored 63/70 giving me a placing in the 'low teens' and was told that I will have a place subject to vetting and medical.

I did medical at end of Jan '08, but had to give them some further info, so hopefully will know soon.

If your vetting comes through in the next few weeks they may call you for the April intake, which AFAIK is on 20th, still 6 weeks away.

You probably can defer your date if necessary.

PSNI can probably confirm that they will hold you place more or less indefinately until your vetting is completed!

    Hope this helps!!

    Regards.

    Mickey2186

    Hi JVB.

You definitely have a place if you pass vetting. I have no doubt you will pass if you are currently serving.

Recruitment will honour any notice period you have to give to whoever your current employer might be. 3 months is nothing new, for example. Heads would roll if they couldn't accomodate you making the transition, especially given where you are currently employed.

The short answer is: Don't worry, you're in!

Got my vetting forms in the post this morning aswell. I only scored 38 in the A/C which really disappointed me, thought i had done even a little better than that:mad:

havent heard anything about a medical yet though which for me is quite a good thing. Im having laser surgery on the 24 march and i know that you have to have had it 6 or more weeks before a medical. if i was called is it possible to have a medical defered for a few weeks?

i have already applied for the next campaign though because im not really pinning my hopes on it right now

I scored just slightly better than you in the AC, and im RC background as well, so we are in the same place at the minute.... hate to admit it but I think the background is what is keeping us in, must be lack of catholics with good scores
