Fruit Trees

    Hi All
    Anyone purchase the fruit trees from Aldi over the weekend,picked up a few,going to try and plant them next dry day that comes.Do they need much attention when planting like adding compost/manure etc

    the more compost etc u add the better the yield will be.

    as far as i remember drainage is important with fruit trees. the experts on here will know

    When selecting your planting location, it would be ideal to be the following.....

    South facing and slightly sloping towards the sun.
    Sheltered, but with good air circulation.
    Away from frost pockets.
    On a fertile and free draining soil.

    thanks for the replys Ircoha and Irish Gardener,Will start reading up on those websites.The garden is very exposed at the moment havent got around to planting a hedge yet.Looking at getting bare root Griselina for the site.Would ye recommend this or box hedging.Been on the lookout for a windbreak barrier to put up around the fence in the meantime.Any know where to get these in galway/mayo tried Horkans didnt have them
