    Hi,
I will be going to California for work in a few weeks time. I have been there before and last time I spent my free time in San Francisco and a little while in Sacramento. I have been to Vegas before so want to do something new. I will have a weekend free again while I am there and work will pay for my accomodation wherever I stay. I have a few choices and mulling them over. I'd like to see what people here would recommend. I will pay for flights if neccessary.

    1. Los Angeles (have always wanted to go to Hollywood for some reason)
    2. Grand Canyon
    3. Tahoe
    4. Yosemite Park
    5. San Diego

I am probably leaning towards LA at this point in time. What would others recommend?

Holywood worth a visit, I lived in near Venice Beach for several months, its very close where the Baywatch series was shot. If you liked the Haight & Ashbury district of SF, you would like this part of the city. Down town part of LA is a kip and avoid the Watts District unless you are driving an APC :D

I wouldnt recommend LA as like the other poster said,do you really want to see a big old sign and some fancy houses?
I'd do LA when you have more time (unless you want to do universal and havent before, you can spend a whole day there including all the rides and a studio tour that is actually a long one and interesting that goes down actual film sets and the set of desperate houswives...yes wisteria lane :p)
The grand canyon and yosemite sound good.
    I'd do that.
I wouldn't bother with San diego on such a time limitation.
    It's just another city.

By the way,if you are doing LA eg universal etc-then drive down from San Fran along the coast-thats a stunning drive but mind the birds ;)

The Grand Canyon is a wonderful experience. It's costly but well worth it.

The day trip to Tijuana is good but be careful, if you decide to do it.

I spent a weekend in yosemite and climbed the half dome.pretty memorable weekend. bring a pair of gloves for the last part and that's all the equipment you need.
