pour cement onto pipes?

Can anyone tell me if its OK to pour cement directly ontop of copper bathroom pipes? :confused: I know I should put a sleve onto it, but I cant get access to the underneath of the pipe without breaking it? Also, Where would I get 2 of these about a meter length each??…

My brother who is a plumber told me not to, as the cement would over a period of time attack the copper. His idea was to insulate the pipe , blind with sand and then cover with concrete.

Cement/concrete breaks down copper very quickly.

If you haven't got much room ,try covering with denzo tape . But it's very messy.http://www.directa.co.uk/site/scripts/product_browse.php?product_id=1800

Standard pipe insulation is the standard way and tape up any joints.
