    If iTunes isn't detecting the phone when you try and install, make sure it does.

    It's now at 1.1.1 but with no installer.

    Whenever I try to to download Appsnap nothing happens. Is downloading from jailbreakme.com really the ONLY way? I've tried dozens of times without success.

    Where do I go from here? Some of the people who've successfully unlocked phones really need to be a little more helpful.

    There is no installer.app on the iPhone because I can't download Appsnap. iTunes does detect my phone when I connect it.

    Ok what firmware are you on

    It sshould be 1.1.3 or 1.1.2 if you are using Ziphone

    If it is on 1.1.1 then you are using the wrong unlock

    Anyway

    On Ziphone you have 3 options Activate Jailbreak and Unlock

    Activate will just get you to the springboard

    Jailbreak will get you the installer app

    If you are on 1.1.1 update to either 1.1.2 or 1.1.3

    Click jailbreak Activate and unlock

    And then start

    If it does not work the first time run it again

    ah ok. upgraded using iTunes then ran it again.

    I think the next step for me is to patch AppSupport. Is that correct?

    Im after losing my iphone earphones. I know they were not the best quality but i really likes the mic on them. Anyone know where i could pick up a new pair (the offical earphones, not those ones on ebay), or is anyone willing to sell me theres? I looked on apple.com but i guess there not going to ship to ireland.

    has anyone seen the videos on utube about iPhone magic...there is one mad and he has popcorn popping inside the phone and another one with him pouring coke out of it...how do I get these or are they just bull cheers

    Go to installer go to uninstall select BSD subsystem and reinstall it
    Then reinstall the installer

    Then go to install install the bsd fix

    Then you should be able to install

    I downloaded these. Theyre just mp4 movie files that make people think you are doing stuff with your iphone.

    Go into the uninstall menu in installer

    tap on installer and tap on reinstall

    Same problem as before. I get a status bar saying downloading package then I wait forever while nothing happens.

    Have you tried downloading installer from the internet and ssh'ing in to your iphone

    Did you reinstall the Installer

    Did you install the update to BSD

    If Yes then Install community sources if they are installed already uninstall them and then install them again



    This works Have done it twice today

    Just make sure they are not swinging the nice plastic bag with the big Apple Logo as they walk through customs

    Ok have you tried to reinstall BSD since you did the reinstall of the installer

    The fix for BSD is in the installer under install

    Community sources is in install you install it like an app

    if you already have it it will be in uninstall if it is there uninstall it then reinstall it in install



    Actually your BSD should be 2.1 that is the current version
